Our monthly meeting consists of a talk or demonstration, followed
by refreshments and an opportunity to buy plants and borrow
magazines and videos. Members can enter the monthly competition
by bringing a plant, produce or cut flowers. Every year in June,
we have a social evening with a rose competition, followed by
a supper and in December we enjoy a Christmas dinner together.
On August Bank Holiday Monday, we stage an Annual Show with
classes on flowers, fruit, vegetables, floral art, winemaking,
cookery, crafts and photography. Classes are open to all (members
and non-members) and there are separate classes for juniors.
Schedules are available from Bourne End Community Centre and
the libraries at Bourne End and Flackwell Heath. All entries
must be handed in to Bourne End Community Centre by 8.00pm
on the Friday before the show.
Every year the Society runs outings to gardens and nurseries.
We support local and garden-related charities. Discounts are
offered from certain local businesses.
All are welcome at our meetings, from the complete novice
to the green-fingered. Visitors are charged £1.00 for
entry.
